Sometimes I can’t believe the hutzpah of Bush & Co. I mean they have the “big lie” technique honed to an art. Recently in the news they’ve been spinning how France’s opposition to war is because of its economic ties to Iraq. It seems to me that if profiteering is France’s game, Chirac would be lining up with good old Tony Blair to get a piece of the post-Iraq action.

But whatever France’s real interests, we know what Bush & Co’s interests are. First up, Halliburton, VP Cheney’s old company has already won a contract for post-war Iraq and is poised to make billions (besides the billions it is already making as a Department of Defense out-sourcer). And get this – Cheney is still being paid by his ex!

But if that doesn’t chill you enough, then there is this recent New Yorker piece about Richard Perle, the mastermind of the Iraqi war.

War is a racket, no doubt about it.

Just for good measure, here is a great article from the Toronto Star how the rest of the world is looking at US.

And speaking of Tony Blair, don’t be fooled by Bush’s recent announcement about the “Road Map.” The announcement was just a bone thrown to his poodle Tony, to help him counter all the criticism he’s getting for going to war against the UN’s wishes. Bush put so many qualifiers into his announcement, it was essentially meaningless. Bush intends to continue to do nothing about the Israel/Palestine conflict.
