Since it is still a bit early to comment on the latest political developments in Israel, I haven’t been posting much. But in case there remains anyone out there who still thinks Bush & Co’s “war on terror” has any credibility, the BBC brings us up to date on the war in Afghanistan. As for the article’s title, I certainly had doubts from the beginning about the war in Afghanistan, and oppossed it as much as I did the war in Iraq. The results, or lack of them, now speak for themselves.
“It is four years since the fall of the Taleban regime. The United States has spent billions of dollars on its operations in Afghanistan – but what does it have to show for it? With no end in sight to the insurgency led by remnants of that regime and insecurity still holding back development in large parts of the country, it is a question that many more people are asking.”
