If Columbia’s management thought this issue would go away after the recent committee report, they were mistaken. The anti-Massad forces ae claiming that the committee was packed with people with an “anti-Israel” bias. I found Professor Massad’s own response interesting reading.
What I find most disturbing is the behavior of Lee Bollinger, Columbia’s President, who is going around New York trying to appease propagandists. I even read in today’s Daily News Bollinger being quoted as saying the academic standards of the MEALAC professor’s are being examined. Now Columbia is just getting itself involved deeper in this campaign of intimidation against these professors.
