Apologists for Israel often cite “the fact” that Palestinians use ambulences to ferry arms and fighters. This in turn justifies Israel attacking ambulences or holding them back at checkpoints which leads to more civilian deaths. It is also used by Israel as a propganda tool to attack the UN and is efforts on behalf of Palestinians. Amos Harel, who is a military analyst for Ha’aaretz, discusses the latest conflict between the Israeli army and the UN.
Based on the Israeli army’s past record, its “analysis” of the incident hardly has credibility. But at least Harel is honest enough to point out how hypocritical the Israeli army is for complaining about Palestinians using ambulences for military purposes. And most importantly, he underlines how the whole incident underscores israel’s use of propaganda to cover up its own war crimes.
