This article by Akiva Eldar, was published before all the hints about possible three way meetings between Bush, Sharon and Abu Mazen. But Eldar’s point still remains valid. The latest word coming out of Israel is that America will announce that it will take Israel’s reservations about the road map into consideration, and thus allow Sharon to bring it to the Israeli cabinet for approval. In other words, America is colluding with Israel to gut the road map of any meaning, to give the illusion of Israeli and American efforts towards peace. Meanwhile, nothing will change and the blood will continue to flow.
