One of many sad tales of the life of Israel’s Arab citizens (from Ha’aretz’ weekend magazine). What I find saddest of all is how the Israeli FM representative shrugs off the very possibility of there being any truth to the charges, without him doing any investigation (while complaining bitterly how the American’s didn’t investigate the case). It is the typical Israeli arrogance – “we are Jews so we are incapable by definition of doing anything bad.”

Almost as bad is the obvious fear felt by the the Israeli Arabs who were interviewed of criticizing the country. It’s all personal they say. They sound like Jews of the shtetl talking about the Polish authorities.
