Paul Krugman is one of the best pundits at the Times these days. This piece is a biting put-down of George Bush. My only criticism is the Monty Python connection is a bit far-fetched (although it is one of the great humor pieces of all time).

On a more somber note, Michelle Goldberg does a good job eulogizing a true political hero, Paul Wellstone, of blessed memory. Strange that politician and hero can be used in one sentance about the same man. The contrast to Bush and all that he doesn’t stand for, makes the shame of the Bush presidency even greater, and the loss of this great man even deeper.
